Library Hours:

Our library will be open every weekday morning from 7:30am until the bell rings. This includes Wednesday mornings, which is a late start day. The library will also be open at lunch time, and after school until 3:30pm. Students are expected to follow the library rules for student behavior at all times while in the library.

Food Service:

This year the Mountain View Whisman School District Food Service has a new payment online system for the families to use. EZSchoolPay.com is provided as a service, to allow online credit card payments into your child's school meal account. It is more convenient than driving to your school, quicker and more reliable than mailing or sending a check, and cheaper than many ATM or wire transfer fees.

Homework Help Available in the Mountain View Library
and Online

It’s 5:00 on a Thursday evening and your son or daughter needs help with math homework. It’s been years since you studied middle school math, (and maybe it wasn’t your strong suit even back then!) You are completely stumped, and the homework has to be turned in first thing in the morning. What do you do?   The Mountain View Library has not just one but two answers for you.

The Library’s Homework Assistant Program has been serving students in grades 6-12 since 2003, but in recent months business has been booming – more kids than ever are coming in for help with math, science, vocabulary – you name it! Regular hours are Monday-Thursday 3:30-6 p.m. This year, with the support of the City’s Community Services Department, the Library has expanded the program, hiring another Homework Assistant and adding hours on two weeknights: Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30-9 p.m. Best of all, the program is free, and there’s no need to sign up in advance Just come in when you need help.

This year’s homework helpers are two juniors and one senior - all from Mountain View High School. Each speaks more than one language, including Spanish, French, Farsi and Mandarin, as well as English. The Homework Assistant Program is funded by The Friends of the Mountain View Library.

Brainfuse, is available with a Mountain View Library Card through the Library website http://www.mountainview.gov/city_hall/library. It provides free live online homework help for students in grades 3 through 12. Tutors are available in English and Spanish seven days a week from 1-10 p.m. Additional services available include practice tests and critiques of a student's written work. Reach Brainfuse from the Library's homepage by selecting the Resources Online link. You will see Brainfuse listed under Homework. Brainfuse is made possible by a grant from the State Library with support from The Friends of the Mountain View Library.

For more information about these programs contact Marie Richardson, Teen Services Librarian, at marie.richardson@mountainview.gov or call (650) 526-7036.
